Devlog 7: Soon To Be Released


Hi all,

I've returned once more to give you all another update for the development of the game. By now, I feel as though most of the hard work is done. I'm into what feels to be the polishing phase at this stage. After this, the game will be ready for a release and some testing by people that aren't myself and my partner.

With that, lets dive right into the update.

Southport is a port after all, and what is a port without a ship registry? A fishing town I guess, but Southport is a city, so it gets a Ship Registry:


At the ship registry, you can purchase tickets so that you can fast travel to different parts of the world. At the moment, that's only Rivertown, but as the world develops, there shall be more to see. Here is an image of you being dropped off at Rivertown after taking a boat over:


Now, you won't have to walk to places if you don't want to, though to be fair, the walk from Southport to Rivertown is not that long, but when places like Capital City exist, then you'll maybe want to take the boats as they'll be much faster than walking everywhere.

Finally, as we're into the polishing phase, I've been adding some useful stuff to some of the NPCs like quest icons to indicate that they have quests for you:


With all this said and done, the game is progressing very well by now in this month off that I've taken. It's allowed me to do a lot more progress a lot faster due to the extra time that I've had. I'm able to devote much more than 8 hours a week and so the progress flows a lot faster. I'm thinking of 1-Aug-25 as the release date for Southport.

With that, little announcement thrown in, I believe that's it for the day for me. I have more things to do yet if I'm to meet that deadline, so the next post will be on 1-Aug-25 as I will release the new Southport update.
